About Gia on the Move
Independent digital publication covering theater and culture in Los Angeles.
GiaOnTheMove.com (GOTM) is an independent digital theater and overall culture-focused publication in Los Angeles founded by writer, producer and performer, Tracey Paleo, the original inspiration for Gia On The Move the personality, the logo, and the blog. Launched in 2009, Gia On The Move quickly gained traction with theater audiences and artists. It exponentially increased its readership in 2011 when larger news outlets in Los Angeles such as the L.A. Times, and L.A. Weekly (now under new ownership) began withrawing their regular coverage of small, 99-seat, and mid sized theaters. This left a huge pocket of underserved performers, productions, and season-producing theater companies without any representation whatsoever in the media. That’s when Gia On The Move stepped in. Gia On The Move subsequently became a dependable source for theatrical coverage, resonating with audiences through its honesty and service to the community. Gia On The Move is not a non-profit. Nor does it (and has never) currently accept advertising or participate in Pay-to-Play financial exchanges for for reviews, editorials or other original content in order to fund its operations. The digital publication relies solely on membership subscriptions from interested viewers. This keeps us honest, fair and reliable, and ultimately distinguishes us from other similar digital journalistic sources.
